The new stretch walker diabetic shoe offers a seamless stretchable toebox which comforts ailments such as bunions, corns, hammertoes, and joint pain associated with arthritis and is ideal for the diabetic walker.
The stretch walker is available with speed-lace or touch closure and has up to 5/16" additional depth with two removable inserts to accomodate custom made orthotics. The VibramŽ Q121 Traction Control soling ensures comfort and durability for the casual workday or weekend play.
As the name implies, these shoes designed as a walking shoe that can accommodate the most demanding foot. The neoprene upper stretches, adapting for hammer toes, hallux valgus, clawtoes, swollen feet, bunions, corns and joint pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis. The seamless forefoot is ideal for the diabteic foot. The combined 5/16th inch removable insoles that come with the shoe provide the extra depth needed for custom orthotics. Research has found that in persons with type 2 diabetes, exercise helps to regulate blood glucose, improves insulin sensitivity, and decreases blood lipids while helping to fat. One study suggests that walking for just 38 minutes a day can improve hemoglobin A1C by 0.4%, reduce the risk of heart disease, and improve cholesterol and triglyceride levels. |
